When traveling for business, it’s easy to fall out of your daily routine and find yourself stumbling over unhealthy eating habits. With a little planning and a disciplined mind, staying fit can be easily achieved.
A recent story by USA Today travel journalist Nancy Trejos offers great insight into how business travelers can prioritize and prepare for being away from home base.
- Plan well – create a daily itinerary with ideas for what you’ll be doing. Leave enough wiggle room for surprises because a little foresight will make it easier to fit in a workout or not rush into an unhealthy meal.
- Pack healthy snacks – pitfalls usually happen when you’re in a time crunch, so be proactive and bring snacks with you to get you through in a pinch.
- Eat healthy meals – seems easy enough, but this is where a dedicated mind comes into play. As Trejos points out, hotels and resorts like ours are offering healthier food choices at many culinary touch points – room service, mini bar, meeting breaks and restaurants. Pass the parfait and pass over the M&Ms.
- Don’t skip the workout – hotels have made this easy with major enhancements to their fitness centers. Take advantage of new workout space to change up your exercise routine.
