Super things are in store for the City of Houston and surrounding communities in 2017. With the news just announced by the NFL yesterday, Houston officially is home to the Super Bowl LI. Let the planning begin!
Houston was up against Miami and San Francisco to win the bid, and there really was nothing holding Houston back from being selected. With a majority of the week-long events being held downtown, the city’s 12-acre urban park, Discovery Green, and the convention center both factored heavily in the decision making process.
The city previously played host to the Super Bowl in 2004 and won rave reviews for the city’s hospitality, organization and dedication to creating a flawless event.
From the sounds of it, city planners are more excited about the party than the game itself, but who’s really in it for the game anyway?!
Do you favor the Super Bowl game, the half time show or the pricey commercials?
