She’s seen you through break-ups and make-ups. She’s that special gal pal you’ve known since third grade. As if you need a reason to get together, mark your calendar for August 1, National Girlfriends Day, a time to go out with the girls and toast to great friendships. Here are 10 ways to celebrate.
Color Splash. Grab a bottle of wine and head over to Painting With A Twist. Sign and date the back of each other’s canvas art to commemorate the occasion.
Beach It. Check out the new Galveston Pleasure Pier.
Say Spaaahh! Mani/pedi time is made better with a complimentary paraffin treatment with any Woodlands Resort spa pedicure.
Wine & Dine. Reserve seats for a wine dinner at a local restaurant.
Cook It Up a Notch. Sign up for a cooking class at Hubbell & Hudson’s Viking Cooking School.
Spring Cleaning. Okay, so it’s summer but anytime is a great time to help clear out each other’s closets. Swap clothes and jewelry then donate unwanted items to charity.
Go Shopping. Now that you’ve cleaned out your closets, it’s time to fill them with updated looks and the season’s must-have pieces. With more than 200 stores, The Woodlands Mall is a great place to start.
Tea Time. Find a local B&B, hotel or restaurant that serves up afternoon tea with scones, finger sandwiches and all the trimmings.
Ride Bikes. Take a leisurely ride through George Mitchell Preserve or along the 190 miles of bike trails through The Woodlands.

and you can never go without leaving your footprints behind."
