After a long day of holiday shopping, it's time to treat yourself with an afternoon pick-me-up. Don't break the bank - these Market Street eateries offer a relaxing spot to grab a snack and a drink at great happy hour prices.

1252 Tapas Bar 

Hours:

Monday – Friday 4-7 p.m.
Thursday & Saturday, 10-11 p.m.
All Day Sunday (drinks only)

This lively locale offers authentic Spanish tapas and wine, beer and cocktails from around the world. On the Happy Hour menu, you’ll find Marinated Spanish Olives ($4), Fried Manchego Cheese with Quince Jelly and Olives ($6), a Mini Cheese Board ($6) and many more classic Spanish plates with prices ranging from $2 - $6. Drink specials include $5 house wine, $4 imported bottled beer and $3 sangria and domestic bottled beer.

 

Cru Food & Wine Bar 

Hours:
Monday – Friday 4-6:30 p.m.

This comfortable, yet elegant spot boasts an award-winning wine list with over 300 selections from around the world and an eclectic assortment of food offerings made from the freshest ingredients. Happy hour plates range from $3 - $5 and include Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels, Calamari, Goat Cheese Beignets and Chicken & Shrimp Potstickers. All wine flights and wines by-the-glass are $3 off.

 

Grotto 

Hours:
Daily 3-7 p.m.

Grotto offers authentic Italian fare in a cozy Trattoria setting. During Happy Hour, enjoy $6 pizzas including Margherita and Roasted Herb Chicken and an assortment of $5 plates from Gnocchi to Calamari or Bruschetta. Drink offerings include $3 selected drafts and peach bellinis, $4 selected bottled beers, $4 house wine and an assortment of $5 martinis and bellinis.

 

Jasper’s 

Hours:
Daily 3-7 p.m.

Self-proclaimed as “gourmet back-yard cuisine," Jasper’s offers an array of American regional cuisine – home-cooking style. Relax in the bar or on the patio with happy hour specials including $5 selected wines-by-the-glass, $5 specialty cocktails and a variety of $5 plates including Salmon Pizza, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Rotisserie Rib Nachos and Beef Tenderloin Sliders, and many more.

 

Berry Hill Baja Grill 

Hours:
Monday 4-7 p.m.
Tuesday – Friday 2-7 p.m.

Certainly the most casual of the Happy Hour spots, Berry Hill Baja Grill offers award-winning Baja Mexican Cuisine, or as they put it: “Seriously Fresh Mex." Kick back for extended Happy Hour and enjoy $1.99 Fish Tacos (voted by Zagat as “The Best Fish Taco Ever”), $3.50 frozen margaritas, $5 rocks margaritas, $2.50 domestic beers and $4 well liquors.

This Friday, Dec. 7 (and for only the second time in 23 seasons), The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion rings in the holidays with a FREE, heartwarming celebration that features the sounds of the season.

Conducted by Robert Franz, the evening’s musical holiday merriment features the Houston Symphony performing holiday classics and popular carols. Enjoy the joyful sounds of songs such as “A Christmas Festival” medley with “Joy to the World,” “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bells.”

You'll feel like you're at the North Pole with Santa, carolers and snow!  Pre-concert activities in the North Plaza begin at 6 p.m.  Concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Pumpkin patches, Halloween decor and seasonal beers on tap ... it finally feels like Fall! If you're staying with us this weekend, enjoy the weather and check out these free events scheduled for Saturday, October 20 and 21.

The Woodlands Wildflower Festival 2012 will be held at Rob Fleming Park. Collect a variety of free wildflower seeds, including the Texas Bluebonnet, Black-Eyed Susan, Scarlet Flax and the Drummond Phlox. There will also be displays of native plants, environmental exhibits and booths with nature-related gift items for sale add to the event. Children will enjoy free giant inflatable rides, a free petting zoo, pony rides, face painting and balloon artists. Lovable mascot of The Woodlands, Puffy Pine Cone®, will pose for free photographs.

The Grogan's Mill Farmers Market will take place from 8 a.m. to Noon. Grande Tamales, Texas Olive Ranch and Marchese Sausage are just some of the vendors selling their goods. For a complete list of vendors, click here.

Dozens of professional and amateur artists will display paintings, photography, metal-works, sculptures, pottery and more at Market Street’s popular outdoor Fall Fine Arts Festival. From 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., stroll through Market Street while listening to live music, and purchasing unique, handcrafted pieces designed by local and regional artists.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21

Pottery Barn at The Woodlands Mall Presents...Fall Decorating Class from 10 a.m. to Noon.  Learn all the basics of entertaining from a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner to a casual buffet for a party at the "How to Entertain With Style" class. Enjoy live music by Reflex Band (Motown and R&B) at Northshore Park from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, picnic dinner and lawn chairs to enjoy leisure time with your family! We sure do miss the laughter and splashing of kids at play. But with the kids back in school and fall temps on the way, the resort transforms into a place of serenity and calm for couples seeking a quiet getaway. Market Street's Central Park is the place to be when its free, Fall Concert Series kicks off September 13 and runs every Thursday night through October 25 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Grab a blanket, towel or lawnchair or dine al fresco at a number of patio restaurants that line Central Park. The concert line up includes:

Labor Day signals the last official weekend of s'mores, dive-in movies, awesome face painting by Muffie the Clown and endless fun around our resort pool.

All the excitement takes place August 31 - September 3 with face painting by Muffie the Clown and a professional balloon artist who twists amazing balloon creations for the kids to take home. At dusk, gather around for the always-popular build-your-own s’mores and dive-in movies. Zip down our two-story, double-helix water slides; enjoy underwater music; explore underwater murals and take part in an underwater Scavenger Hunt.

At nearby Waterway Square, enjoy two days of Labor Day festivities with classic rock favorites by Mike Maker on Saturday from 6 - 7:20 p.m. followed by Alter Ego, playing the latest alternative and classic rock hits from 7:40 - 9 p.m. On Sunday, the fun starts all over again with cover band KAOS playing music from the 80’s through today’s hottest hits from 6 - 7:20 pm. Rounding out the holiday weekend celebration is 80’s variety band The Spicolis from 7:40 - 9 p.m. A fireworks display will light up the night’s sky each evening beginning at 8:55 p.m.  Insider Tip: Waterway Square offers the best viewing for fireworks.
